The village of Darro lies some 30 minutes to the north east of Granada, just outside the boundary of the heavily afforested mountainous natural park, and within a few minutes of the important modern, but also historic, regional town of Guadix, which boasts every possible amenity.

Darro itself is a small open village, with a number of bars and restaurants etc, set in a flat agricultural plain, actually straddling the link road from the Malaga-Murcia motorway to the Granada - Madrid highway.
